Managing Partner

Christian Puscasiu serves as Managing Partner at Presidio Investors, a private equity firm specializing in control investments in the middle market. Joining the firm in 2017, he reunited with former Harvard Business School section-mate, Karl Schade, partnering to raise Presidio’s first institutional fund and significantly build out the team. Presidio focuses on partnering with growing, niche leaders in the Business Services and Entertainment sectors. Mr. Puscasiu leverages his background to lead the firm’s Technology-Enabled Services investment efforts, applying a value-oriented and operationally focused approach to drive growth.
Mr. Puscasiu possesses over 25 years of comprehensive experience across technology, strategic consulting, and finance. His career began in software engineering, following a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, before transitioning to management consulting with Bain & Company. His deep expertise in private equity was cultivated through progressively senior roles, including Co-Head of Direct Private Equity at Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ), Canada’s second-largest pension fund, where he co-led a direct private equity portfolio of approximately CAD$20 billion and deployed over CAD$5 billion. His background also includes Partner positions at EQT, focusing on European investments and turnarounds, alongside investment roles at Blum Capital and AEA Investors. Reflecting his entrepreneurial drive, he founded Three Bridges Venture Partners, an early-stage technology investment firm. He holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.
This unique blend of technical understanding, strategic insight, and extensive institutional and entrepreneurial investment experience underpins Mr. Puscasiu’s contributions at Presidio. His leadership was central to the firm’s recent acquisition of the Italian Serie A football club Hellas Verona FC, a complex transaction showcasing Presidio’s strategy in the entertainment sector and its value-driven approach. The deal drew upon his significant international experience, including his time investing in Europe and his fluency in several languages, including Italian and German. In addition to his role at Presidio, Mr. Puscasiu contributes to academia as an instructor in Private Equity, Finance, and Entrepreneurship at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, a position he has held since 2013.
